Humble Beginnings Founded Today's Success.
Di Prinzio Cossettini
was begun in 1963 as Concrete Contractors by two friends with the
same passion for hard work and driven by determination to make a
successful business from their skills and abilities with
concrete.
The late Vincenzio Di Prinzio and Luciano Cossettini were very
determined to bring forward the art of concreting and concrete
structures in the building industry, unlike many others could at
that time. They believed that they could build a business that
was well recognised for quality work and competitive in the
market within ten years, and set about their goals.
It was no surprise that the company began to grow soon after the
two partners commenced in their new business aspirations. A true
combination of solid business planning and hard work was the
foundation for the company to become incorporated as a
Proprietary Company on the 2nd February 1971. Not only had the
two men created their dream in two years less time than they had
set out as their goal, but they had employees, equipment and
were now becoming a sought after company by a wide range of
developers.
As further time past, the company grew and became one of the
leaders in the industry with involvement in various Domestic,
Commercial and Civil Works. There was a large range of work
types that the business was able to undertake including
Excavation, Formwork, Placement of Reinforcing Steel, as well as
Placing and Finishing of Concrete, including Granolithic Topping
and Exposed Aggregate. Their industry experience had also grown
to concreting types from Raft Slabs up to and including
Multi-Storey Buildings. A great amount of work that was carried
out by Di Prinzio Cossettini is still in commission to this day.
One certain fact within the Concrete Industry is that the job
involves a lot of hard physical work with a very high demand for
proper understanding of plans, measurement and surveying skills
to begin the project, followed up with all other relevant
abilities to carry out what the developer has requested and to
ensure that it services the project correctly throughout its
lifetime. It is common knowledge that any building or
development project needs the absolutely best possible
foundations, that secure their structure for many years to come,
well beyond most of us who are reading this page.
Today at Di Prinzio Cossettini, the company remains in the hands
of the original founders' sons. Peter Di Prinzio and Paul
Cossettini became the directors in 2001 and are both involved in
various areas of the business every day. Under the current team,
the business has virtually reached the pinnacle of what they can
do within the concrete industry and now the company continues to
provide top quality concrete finishes to a multitude of
developments across Newcastle, The Hunter and wherever the
others can not go, Di Prinzio Cossettini are always
called upon because they can.
Towards and throughout the new millennium and up to today, the
company has undertaken some very large concreting projects,
which have given them acclaim for their work and secured their
place in the high scale development area. Whilst continuing with
large jobs, they have also continued to complete medium scale
and domestic projects as well. The ability to be continuously
involved in several areas at one time is assured through good
employees with a team of 49 people available to the work
deployment structures that the company may need to arrange on
any given day of the week.
Since the new directors became active, many changes also
occurred in the Australian Economic Structure with the
introduction of GST. This was also the time that Di Prinzio
Cossettini made the transition into modern technologies. A new
tax system saw the company modernise their computers to what was
current at that time, the MS Windows Platform®
was introduced to the staff and the business moved
forward again. Since that time, the modernisation of
technologies has been very important to the business and a
constant area of expansion which they make regularly due to the
constant advances made in this particular area. I sincerely
believe that the thought of someday being able to type your
company name into a computer with the result being a virtual
introduction to the company that they once created all those
years ago, appearing right there in front of their eyes, was
something that Vincenzio and Luciano had never considered in
their original plans. Changes however, come through generations
and so, here we are today, wondering what tomorrow and the next
generation may be considering.
